3 Steps to Better Intuition
How good is your intuition? Are you ready to improve?
People with highly developed intuition have unlocked something: they make better, faster decisions, they are happier and more successful, and they move through the world with energetic ease.
When I ask most people about their intuition, they get a little wistful. They say something like, “I’d like to be more intuitive.”
Others are uncertain if they're doing it right. They say, “How do I know if I’m hearing my intuition? What if it’s fear or my ego talking?”
Up until recent history, mainstream culture thought intuition was imaginary. Now it’s being studied by top researchers all over the world. It’s time to tap into this powerful human capacity. You deserve to make better & faster decisions, be happier and more successful, and walk through life with ease.
I have a 5-Day Challenge that walks you through the steps to develop your intuition. I have worked these steps with artists, mothers, healthcare professionals, authors, business leaders, and wilderness adventure clients. They work for everybody.
The three steps are:
1. LISTEN to it.
Intuition is actually a form of intelligence. Everyone has it, but just like other kinds of intelligence, not everyone has developed it. Once you are able to consistently and reliably “hear” your intuition, then you can start making intuitive decisions more easily.
The key to unlocking this step is to learn that intuition is in your body, not your mind. There is a reason we call it a “gut feeling”! But the human body sends the brain 11 million bits of info per second. Learning to listen to your intuition means learning which of those 95 billion bits a day (I did the math) are useful.
2. UNDERSTAND what it’s saying.
One reason many people don’t have strong intuition now is because as a child, adults constantly told us how to behave. A child’s intuition is not fully developed, afterall. Unfortunately, as we get older, most people are not taught how to mature their intuition, leaving us stuck looking outside ourselves for direction. The good news = it's not too late to learn.
Once people unlock Step 1 and can sense their intuition, I teach them what those sensations mean. The key is knowing which sensations indicate an inner “yes” and which mean “no.” In this step you learn to distinguish true intuition from fear, social conditioning, or your ego. When you know what your intuitive intelligence is telling you, it becomes easier to take action.
3. IMPLEMENT its wisdom.
Imagine you consistently give your friend advice, and she ignores you every time. She always answers, “I see what you’re saying, but…”. If she called you up one day begging for advice, would you be motivated to go out of your way to help her? Would you trust that she would listen?
Now consider, has your mind been treating your intuition this way?!? Do you ignore those nagging feelings over and over, but then beg for intuition around new decisions?
In this step, I teach how to rebuild trust between your mind and your intuition. At first those intuitive choices may feel uncomfortable. The first time I acted based on my gut knowing, my mind complained about it VERY loudly. When those actions resulted in more time to do what I loved and less stress and pain, my mind began to trust. Now, seven years later, I live by my intuition every day.
. . . .
Through these three steps, you will learn everything you need to build an effortless, effective, intuitive life. Intuition is not a “switch” that goes on or off, nor a power that you either have or don't have. It’s an inner relationship among the different kinds of intelligence that are all inside you.
