Aha Moments

Have you ever discovered something about yourself that made you go, “Oooooooh! So THAT’S what’s been going on this whole time!!” In an instant, a mindset shift can give you clarity about who you are and why life has been the way it has for you. With the new perspective, suddenly you forgive yourself for “mistakes” you might have made. Suddenly, resources for how to navigate within the new paradigm start showing up left and right.

It might be as simple as learning the true intention behind a friend’s behavior was simply a misunderstanding, not an intentional slight. Then, boom! forgiveness, laughter, joy in the return of connection just flow on out. Or it might be as profound as a new diagnosis, like my friend who just got diagnosed for the first time - in her 40’s - with ADHD. It has been a huge relief for her to learn about her own brain in this new way and have access to resources that actually WORK for HER. Maybe you’ve experienced it physically, like when a doctor finally hits on the solution for your chronic pain. With physical relief comes a flood of new energy and enthusiasm for life.

These moments are pure gold, the Aha!-moments of life.

The period immediately before the Aha, however, can be painful. Stressful, exhausting, anxious, angry, hopeless… All these emotions and more, none of which are very pleasant. The hardest part is often simply not knowing how to fix it - that’s so frustrating!! In my work, I understand these emotions as SIGNALS, not necessarily that something is wrong and needs to be fixed, but rather that a new awareness is needed, and is on its way.

When my clients come to me, they are feeling stuck, frustrated, confused. They don’t identify with the negative feelings they are having, but they don’t yet know how to move past them. The tools they’ve used in the past aren’t working any more and they don’t know why. The pain of this is impacting their work, their relationships, their joy, their plans for the future; pretty much every part of life might be colored by this.

In a coaching series, we dive into discovery to find the Aha!-moment shift that is waiting for you.

I don’t diagnose cognitive patterns or prescribe physical therapy, but there are shifts in the way you understand yourself and the world around you that can release huge energy in much the same way. With a new lens on “so THAT'S what’s been going on this whole time,” you get to start navigating differently, finding new resources, implementing more skillful ways of being, and feeling the incredible confidence that you are on your path to your highest possible self. Boom!
